I checked the one at my grocery store the other day and found two zinc pennies stuck together.

And in another coin counting machine story...I was dropping off $200 in halves into the casino's jet sorter this morning and the thing jammed. So a tech came over and removed the top and I got to see the machine's guts. Pretty cool. Also got a 1989 Canadian dime that he pulled out.

I finally began checking the coin reject tray on the machine at the grocery store I shop at.

I found a clad dime one week, and the following week I found 78 cents in clad. Not bad for just walking by the machine and looking at it! I guess some people just do not even know that there is a reject tray or what it is for.

After 2 months of empty trays, I finally scored another coinstar hit, actually 2. Monday - 1.21 in clad and yesterday a 1964 dime. Thank you coinstar.

I got 3 clad pennies a few weeks back.

Last Friday I walked by the machine, and some guy had a TON of pennies he was dropping in. There were a lot of coins in the reject tray, but of course I could not just run up and grab them.
He was going to be there for awhile, and I was in a hurry, so I did not wait around for him to leave.

Better luck this evening, as I go to the same grocery store every Friday on my way home from work.
