Good deal. Silver rings are nice even if they are somewhat "cheap". Let the silver streak continue. :)

PS - nice zinc penny. :D

WOW.....That sure looks nice Tim!! What VDI range are they coming in at? Also, what settings are you using?

You obviously have this down to a science with that DFX. I am still trying to learn mine but it is getting better......no rings yet though.

Kudos to you!!

Different programs for different areas. Silver rings will VDI like dimes and quarters - high 70's to mid 80's. Gold rings are 8 to 65 with a lot falling in the pulltab range.
For depth, start with coin jewelry program - Max out your preamp gain and AC sensitivity for your area (til they run smooth), sweep speed 1, bottlecap reject 1. Accept everything down to -40 on your discrimination. Filters = 4. Tone ID On.
The most foolprooof way to get max depth is to bury coins at varying depths and fiddle with the settings until you get the clearest signal at the greatest depth. The best accessory besides a shooter coil for trashy areas and playgrounds would be a sunray DX-1 probe. It cut my recovery time by at least 50%.
When I really want to go deep in clean areas I use Mixed mode and a single frequency and dig everything that I hear. It's amazing how you can kick an inch of dirt and leaves out of the way and get a much better signal.

HH!!!
Good luck to you and give it a while - it's a heck of a machine but there are so many features that it took me a year before I felt comfortable with it.
