Detector(s) used
BH Lone Star, BH Tracker IV, BH Tracker 2-D/707, Harbor Freight MD-3005, and 2 BH 840
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I've been wondering why all of the detectors that are being sold are motion type. I started with a little cheap one from Radio Shack in 1980, then bought a BH 840. Both are non-motion type. I've used both kind of detectors; and have 3 motion type, and 2 non-motion type. Is there a reason that the non-motion detectors are no longer manufactured? I really loved the pinpointing with the BH 840; just center up the find, push the button in the handle to desensitize some, and center up the find again. It was so easy!

The better detectors have a pinpoint button that put it in a non motion mode. The one on my Whites Coinmaster GT works very well.
