RGINN do you know of anyone that has been attacked by a moose ?If so any serious results ?
CPW says there's been about 13 attacks in the last 5 or 6 years. The reported one I know about is earlier this year a hiker surprised one on a trail near Breck. She was able to get away with minor injuries. I don't know the outcome of the others. Most of those attacked had dogs with them, and moose hate dogs. Another danger is hitting one on the road. They're hard to see at night. Saw a car in front of me almost hit one, one evening on the way to work. They're tall, like a horse, so if you hit one with a passenger car they have a tendency to come right in the passenger compartment with you. A lady was killed a couple of years ago north of town on I-70 when she hit one. With the amount of tourists we have here, it's a wonder we don't have more incidents. At work we had to go out and stop some of our J1 workers from taking selfies with one in the parking lot earlier this year.
