🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Musket ball? of what date?

Found this lead musket ball in woods. Hard to get a good pic but it appears to have a seam and a spruill (?) at the top. Thank you.

Are you sure this is lead? It looks more like iron in your picture. Old lead usually has a whitish patina. Does it stick to a magnet?

Agree it does not look like lead.

Too small for a musket. Possibly rifle or pistol.

Lead balls(if that is what it is) are hard to date. A sphere has few defining characteristics. I still cast them and shoot them as do thousands of folks using blackpowder firearms.
