✅ SOLVED Musket Ball?

Hey y'all - my house in Stone Mountain is less than a mile from where Sherman's troops camped for a couple of nights on their march to Savannah during The War of Northern Aggression.

I found this little ball in my front yard. Registers as iron, strongly magnetic. Put it in my tumbler for about a half hour and it cleaned up a bit.

No idea if it's ammo or not? It's about .50 inches and weighs around 7 grams (~110 grains).

Any ideas?

I don't believe ammo was made of iron, unless fired in a canister. Could be a bearing, or stop valve ball. IMO.

That looks like a large ball bearing. Musket balls are lead and usually very dull gray or if exposed to the air will oxidize and have white on them.
