I found this antique sash buckle in rurorigins. al Alleghany County, Va. I was on the side of a mountain digging behind large boulders looking for Native American artifacts. I was within a mile of the site of an Indian massacre.
i am not totally sure about the metal(s) it was made with. I cleaned the dirt off a
nd took pics. LOOK closely at the center of the buckle. There seems to be an ๐Ÿ‘, which may tell something about the origins.
The last three pics were taken with a flash and show the metal looking kinda like copper. But in person it's basically silver.
