One I recovered. A lady approached me on the beach and said she lost a necklace with a "charm" on it. She and her husband were vacationing in Florida from Utah and were getting ready to checkout and head to the airport. She had taken off the necklace and placed it on her beach chair and forgot about it. Lost it while packing up. I recovered it while they were at the checkout desk and called them back to the beach. I think I shocked them when I told them I was originally from Brooklyn, NY. I think it was a double eagle?

gold Portuguese johana......found on a windswept and very isolated beach on long island bahamas. So far my friends have recovered 57 of them. I also found 3 pieces of eight with my gold coin on the same day !! What an incredible day that was !!
That is my current avatar pic.

Some of the beauties recovered by my bahamian friend in Nassau !! I got to finger and fondle these coins after they were recovered......at first they were looking to unload the whole lot.....after careful thought, I think they only sold 4 coins. These 4 coins landed them alot of money as they were rare and had key dates. My friend owns a landscaping business, and these coins came out of the root ball of an old mahogany stump. They quickly picked up the coins and left the island. The story was that an old captain was living a double life.....he had a family in America, and a second home and family in the bahamas !! Apparently he was involved in the pineapple boom years, was paid in gold coin for his cargo !! Eventually he died back here in the states, and all his bahamian savings remained in the ground and his bahamian wife did not know about it !! So the property changed hands several times before my friend was hired to take the old tree down.....he did his job and removed the tree.....roots and all !! No stump, no hole, and a fortune in gold coins !!
