Going over new ground today with Relic Nut and we had a great day. This site was full of buttons, couple of coins so far, lots of iron, some "whatisits". If you can enlighten me on the reale details & narrow down the date I'd appreciate it. I've seen ya'll post them but never really thought to pay attention as they seemed so illusive here.... Wrong. Thks for looking! Dn

Nice cut pistareen of philip v. Probably 1720s but your slice does not have year, mint, or assayer on it

Comparing images on web to this pc. looks to be early to mid 1720's perhaps?

The circular one on the left is a parasol slide. I found one of those a few months back and it took me forever to figure out what it was. I finally googled "Copper Gear" + "Metal Detecting" and it popped up on an image search. I'd have never guessed that in a million years so thank goodness people have found them before me!

Thanks. Relic Nut thought maybe that was what it was. I found a bigger one couple of wks ago but was broke in half.
The other thing I've seen pics of but can't remember where or what. Rn was thinking bridle brass like a rosette?

Well it's a roll of the dice with cut silver. Sometimes you get a date and assayer, and other times you get the other parts. Still a stellar find - I'm still looking for my first cut pistereen.
