Here's what I managed to find after a full day out there swinging... 1893 V Nickel, 1893 IHC, 1876 IHC, one 5 Cent token, and one peice of hammered copper from the Indians.. good day, until I seen what vicegrips founds... *sigh* he beat me on the old coins and found the single nicest copper artifact I have ever seen, extremely rare type and in pristine condition, amazing. Anybody know anything about the little eagle button thing? It's very thing like it went over something?

Not to shabby on your account! I'd be extremely happy with your finds :o

Nice finds. Its a shame that I H wasn't a year newer. We've seen a few 1877's recently.

Hey cannonman,
What's on the other side of the token?
Have you tried reseaching the name on it yet?

What a great day! :icon_sunny:

The other side is flat and has the initials LB scratched into it. I'm more curious about the button, it looks just like one from a link that a guy have me that said it was confederate uniform in nuture!

Hey Cannon! Does it have the 3 arrows in the talons? Hard to see from the picture. If it does I'd have to agree with Ty. Great find!

I would have loved the copper artifact to be under my coil!

Great day out, you scored!

Nice finds,

That 76 is a semi key date.

HH Jer

When I wiped the coin off all I could read is 187 and I held my breath for a minute while I squinted and wiped the coins.... I knew that any IHC in the 1870's is a good one but I hoped it would be a 77!! I'm still happy as can be. I wonder about the confederate button being all the way up here in Wisconsin though-?

Man, you had a wonderful hunt! That hammered copper is really cool

I wish I knew more about the button. . . great coins as well!

You might want to try some heated Hydrogen Peroxide and some "toothbrushing" on those IH pennies, this method worked well on the ones I found a couple of weeks ago. (I wouldn't do anything with the hammered copper. . . but, you probably know that already)

Take care & HH!

Very nice job on the button dude! Love the old coins as well!

Could you post on "What is it" , should get more responses on it. An isolated better/bigger scan or photo of the Eagle button? Including the backside, regardless of condition would help.

Interesting button for sure, I have not found an exact match for it, but all details are hard to see, especially the talon areas.

Right now I would lean towards a Confederate Officer's button, but not sure.
