Mystery Disc Solved... Revamped post to show info and more finds

Please see my most recent post in this thread for updated info on my mystery coin. Rather than waste space with a new thread, I just thought I would re-work this one with a full explanation.
Thanks for understanding!!

I'm seeing the toasted part , just can't make out the mercury dime part as of yet .
Much larger than a dime. I may do more cleaning then if I got everyone stumped.
Thinking design is similar to Reals maybe? Or maybe its just a cool token.

Thanks!!

I agree that based on the size, it isn't Mercury dime. At first glance it appeared that the first picture looked like the reverse of a merc with and the second picture kind of looked like the obverse of an upside down merc. I hope someone can ID it for you.

One thing I believe is that it was exposed to extreme heat.

Well I have an answer to my mystery coin... Its not complete as far as real-fake ect... But please see my Help Thread to give a little more explanation. First I will show a few finds from 4 different hunts that yielded some goods. (Yeah four hunts but I was skunked on one-So really three)

Notables include wheats- a couple Mercs and a very cool Eagle button that was down deep. A 1910 V nickel.... My mystery coin and a very cool silver wolf cuff link that has tiny red eyes! Creepy...

On the mystery coin... Thanks to a bunch of peoples help (see Help Post here) the I.D. of the coin is made. Since many spent a fair bit of time on this, I thought I would reply in kind with a detailed composite overlay I did in PS to show in fact this is the coin that DCMatt and another person from the UK described as the one that closest resembles the one. (Good coin photo added for illustration) You can chart out several points that much up perfectly. As to the genuine factor of this item, well its anybody's guess... So far indicators point it is the real thing. This was found in an area that had items going back to the late 1800's. Given the layer of crust and gunk, I would not be surprised. Oh yeah-This Roman coin probably dates back to 250AD!!!

This is a Roman double denarius coin minted from 215AD till around 293AD. The obverse is of a woman, Herennia Etruscilla... The reverse is of the goddess of "chase virtues" Pudicitia. (There's a lot more detail here that can be added if there was room!)

Someone lost a great coin out of their collection a long time ago. While this is not a "period loss" by any means, the story of how this coin ended up where it did must be a really good one.
OK-You be the judge!!

Thanks Glen! Yeah pretty amazing and the poor guy/gal all those years ago (100+ I surmise) must have been bummed to loose that the way he/she did.

Great question... I have seen coins like this-But in really good condition go for 200.00+
I feel this one will probably have a value at a fraction of that. This is a coin that has no value as far as a low production run-miss marks ect...
But the value to me and how/where I got is priceless!!
Thanks for the reply.
