Howdy, I’m new member on this site, but long time lurker I love archeology, history, artifacts and apparently rocks ;-) EDF7A658-9B06-4A0B-B4C5-7FE4159F1326.jpeg 81D11091-CAD1-43EB-8991-48A399AF55DD.jpeg 1FDD59F5-6622-46EF-B95B-AC7854AD360E.jpeg

I am hoping you can help me prove to my husband and kids that these rocks are actual artifacts and not just random rocks. They usually make fun of me when I proudly pull them out to show people. “ Sure mom, those are ancient Native American artifacts that just happen to be laying around on the beach and out of all the rocks on the beach you spotted them” They say. Lol.
I’ve picked up these rocks over the years mostly on the beaches in Cape Cod where we usually take our family vacations. I’ve compared them to finds other people have posted and some do resemble hand tools but I’m not sure about the some of the others.

Do I have anything of interest here?

Thank you so much for your help!

Sorry, just rocks, no signs of being altered by man.

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for replying. Did I mention the two dark pointy ones and the rock at 10 o’clock are ergonomically correct, they fit my fingers/ hand perfectly!

The biggest mistake new hunters make is "fits my hand". Almost every rock made by mother nature will fit your hand if it is turned enough times. You want to look for signs of being worked, not how it fits a human hand.

I think they are all natural, and I will not make fun of you. You're learning about what is an artifact, so keep looking!

Welcome to the forum! They look natural to me too but really cool stones and nothing wrong with liking nice rocks at all. Keep looking and I'm sure you will find something cool.

I live in southern California in San Juan Capistrano and I've found a lot of similar rocks that you have found but in creek beds.

There is hundreds of years of indian artifact experience on this forum, I myself have 37 years collecting and many others here have a lot more than that, I'm sorry if you don't like our answers but what good does it do to tell someone they have an artifact when they obviously don't.
