A women friend of mine gave me this item to see what I could find out about it .About 2ft long by 11 inches wide .
The story from her was her father was in Germany during the war and brought this back .Made out of a very soft cloth.

It may be German, but it is not a Nazi insignia-- which would "balance on one point" not be horizontal to the 'ground'
as in your item.

It may just BE nAZI!!!

As we all know the Swastika has been used for many many yrs. Before the Nazis *******rized it...The Nzi swastika is NOT always canted/at an angle,Mostly the LUFFTWAFFE used the angeled swastika as did ALOT of other insiginia but here are a few that are not angled as one post said HAD to be for a Nazi insignia,Not true! They used many variations of it...HAPPY HUNTING ALL,And look deeper into those curtains,They ARE prior to 1940 if American or other,( An American div. had a swastika as their DUI the 45th. div.U.S.Army i beleive)GOOD LUCK and i'll look a little further for you.

The cloth banner is hanging correctly, the shield shape indicates an armored unit, the black border indicates SS. They were carried on a stick holding the stick horizontal in parades, I've seen these before.
