Found this on a site that holds relics from the Rev. war, Civil War, and so on. Just want to know what it is and from what era? It has another button on the other side which is a general service eagle button. Not sure if it was a locket as it has a piece that looks like it could attach to a necklace or something. Or if the two buttons were fused together in a fire. Showing both sides, any info on both, but most interested in the crossed rifles with the flag button. Thanks

Just my guess, but I think you have part of a belt. They even had some of the original dies for the buttons.

The Eagle button on the left is a Civil War Union Staff Officer's button. If you could get a better image of the second button, we might be able to track it down.
