My friend was out detecting with me last night and found this old copper coin, he doesn’t have Facebook so I’m posting for him. Does anyone have an idea what this coin can be? My first guess would be British large cent, it’s the right size but on the back I can see some type of leaves, almost like a wreath. I know if it’s British it should be Brittania and no leaves. Any help is appreciated thank you

I am guessing a US large cent.. I can see a profile looking left, I believe. The wreath would support the Large Cent too, though I can’t see that with my eyes.

It has letters all around edge of the front side of the coin. Large cents just have stars. I’m assuming it’s some type of foreign coin I don’t know any US coins like this

Interesting. Did not see the letters on the obverse. Good luck with the ID.

Based on the letter styling and positioning it looks very much like it could be a George IV penny. I've attached an image that shows the characteristics that I can see, the style of the 'E' & 'I', the style of the 'T' and position in relation to the base of the neck, the style of the 'O', and the type of beading that is more like the teeth of a cog than the more common dots. Nice find!

My guess is mid-1800s Italian coin. I made a comparison. The "TA" in "ITALIA" behind the head looks really close. I used an 1863 10 Centesimi in this image. It is usually sized about 30mm and 10g. which would be just a little bigger than a US large cent.

*edited to add both sides of the coin so that you can see it has a wreath reverse.
