Need help identifying!!

Was out metal detecting at a local park and I found what I believe is a bird band. It was down about 8 inches. Embossed on the band is AU 49 York, PA on one side and then the number 750 on the other. Looking for some confirmation as to what it is. Thanks.

American racing pigeon Union band i think. If so bird was hatched and banded in 1949 in York pa. York pa should be the club number but I guess banding was a bit different back than. Last numbers is the birds ID
