need help IDing coin???sanfrancisco 1874-1937

i have recently found a coin in an old car i purchased maybe someone can help me.it is 1 1/2"in diameter and is gold or bronze in color.one side says SAN FRANSISCO MINT 1874-1937 with a picture of what i assume is the old sanfrancisco mint.the other side says TREASURY DEPARTMENT,UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,with a picture of the contenental 48 states in the fore ground and a eagle with scales in its beak and holding a key in its left foot and what i think is a olive branch in its right.
anyone have any clues?
