Will Minelab beef up the coil mounting tabs on that one?

Appears to be their answer to the XP Deus II.

Looks like an eq replacement ?
Don't think so, but by the design, many parts could be interchangeable, it is cheaper to make the screen shell, shafts, etc that are interchangeable on several models..

Don't know too soon to tell. I do know it is cheaper if the manufacturing parts line can make parts that fit multiple detectors. For example, the shell that holds the screen and motherboard looks identical to Equinox and the video says multi-iq which is the same as Equinox. It is too soon for Minelab to be retiring the equinox line too, sales are way to high to retire it.

I agree, EQ is not that old, though its had a lot of issues with water ingress for those that use it in the water.
Maybe its the eq 1000 model ?

Excal is waterproof to 250 feet so unless it is waterproof to at least 200' I doubt it is an excal replacement.

A Manticore has the head of a man, body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion.

My bet is they chose this name because the detector blends 3 technologies.

Multi IQ, FBS, and another tech. Maybe BBS.

Just feel'n bad for the hunters that just pluncked down a k for an 800. This looks like a replacement with obvious hardware upgrades, software upgrades, possibly new freq. weighting, new CPU. Going to be sticking with me XPD2, getting such good results with it. Looking forward to see the operation and techniques of this new machine. Across the pond battles repeat? They got pretty intense the the XPD2 and Legend. All's good though.

Nothing has been reported that I can find that shows any features, or improvements over the Nox.

Well the lcd is interesting.
Built in light
The bottom half of lcd gives a lot of information, a bit like ctx3030
A splash of colour
Carbon shafts
Battery in handle

I agree. Looks like it’ll have 3 detectors in one type of deal. CTX, Equinox and probably better water

I agree it looks like it may have capabilities of 3 detectors in one. CTX, Equinox and better water proofing like an Excal. The control head looks thicker than the Equinox so It probably has a deeper water rating.

Looks like it could be a 3030 replacement, 3030 is old and has not been updated in a long time, it is still an excellent detector.
