Hello all, I’m new to this world. But have always been interested.. After some research into what equipment beginners, intermediate and advanced users use and recommend. I settled on and purchased the Garrett AT Pro. I didn’t want to get something really cheap and get turned off from the whole thing quick. But I also didn’t want to spend thousands on a high end machine, only to find out it wasn’t for me. So after a lot of reading it sounded like the AT Pro was a good machine to start with. Especially since I didn't want to be limited to a certain type of detecting. (Beach, woods, etc.) I’m hoping the AT really does stand for All Terrain. Although I have my suspicions it isn’t the greatest in wet sand. Anyway new member here with loads of questions and in need of mentoring.

Welcome from Connecticut. I think you made a wise choice going with the AT Pro. It’s a good all round machine and not overwhelming like some high enders. Like you noted, the one big drawback is the limited performance in wet sand, especially wet saltwater sand. Hope you make some great finds but for a lot of folks like myself, it’s more about the hunt than the finds. (That’s what I keep telling myself anyway) :BangHead:
