Got out with a buddy of mine to do the other half of a permission we got this past spring. We couldn’t get to it because we couldn’t get together in time before the hay got too high so we had to wait until it got cut and today was the day. My buddy pulled up 2 beautiful coppers ( KGI and KGII), a sterling silver spoon with British hallmarks, some buttons and a ton of musket balls. This spot is a large flat piece of land that is close to the center of town so from the amount of musket balls and militia buttons and toe taps we found there it must have been used as the muster field for the local militia.
I found a nice two piece militia button, KGII (1746) a bunch of assorted buttons, a pewter knee buckle and a pocket full of musket balls. It was nice to hit a spot that hasn’t been pounded by others and the ground is very kind to the coppers. This spring my buddy pulled up a 1701 William III that made me throw up ( just a little) I’ll post pictures of the spring hunt as well
