IMO, the F75 is a very simple machine to operate and navigate. I seemed to favor 2F at old cellars or fields. I switch over to the all metal side and raise the audio pitch to give a nice "zip" on anything non ferrous. Makes those targets jump out. I also like JE mode as it seems the deepest only behind Boost process.

These machines love little flecks of can slaw and will id deep beaver tail tabs like a deep silver coin. The audio is the only clue with the targets the F75 seem to get fooled with. Washed out high tones are almost always falsing iron and/or can slaw or tabs. Nice machines and still very capable!

Also dabbled with disc on 6 with decent success. All metal always seemed to unmask a bit better than disc. mode but screen watching gets old quick.

Set the discrimination to your liking, (I run it between 4 & 9 site depending) run sensitivity between 65-75 in town near electric interference and higher in rural areas. I like 3H tone in most sites. I normally run DE mode unless in a trashy ara then I use FA. I mainly use BP mode to get a better target ID on an iffy signal. If you swing fast and are hunting rutty soil that causes falsing I have been known to use PF mode. Make sure you do a factory rest at least once and then learn how to flip through the 7 frequencies so you can pick a quiet one in EMI areas.

3H and 4H tones rings in the nickel range with a high tone like silver.

Learn how to do the "reset" (I do this frequently when turning the unit on) and don't be afraid to turn down the sensitivity. The F-75 like a fast sweep and will do better (separation & depth) with a faster sweep.

Here is a list of TDI readings I put together.

Love my 75 and would put it up with the best" Very sensitive to very small flake bronze coins here in Japan. Love to find these coins and are very rare" I would think deep nickles and gold would be good too" thumbnail_IMG_9315.jpg

I always run mine at 6 on disc, 90’s on sensitivity, 2F, 1 notch, and either DE, or BP, depending on where I’m at. I usually relic hunt so that’s my main settings for that.

Since we’re near the holiday season I think we should continue this thread for anyone interested in each other’s settings, for relics, coins, and jewelry. I’ve been killing it with mine lately, I have noticed it has its good days, and bad days with the chattering, but through all of that I still hit some extremely deep targets. I dug a quarter up on the side of a hill today at the old home place I found that Nuns medal, and it was deeper than my Kobalt shovel end. I sunk it down in the dirt all the way to the foot pegs, and still had to dig out two more inches of dirt to find it.
