New to Indian artifact hunting

Today I found a lot of flint shards while walking a stream. I'm assuming this would be a good area to search slowly for other artifacts? I ran out of daylight today but was very interesting the amount of flint I was finding. Just curious to someone that would have a lot more experience then me. Thanks for any helpful hints

Walk hundreds and hundreds of miles in creeks, streams, and rivers. In creeks and streams look for anything that interrupts the flow of the current.

They camped close to fresh water and many times creeks, streams and rivers will widen over time, and artifacts that were buried will fall in the water as the banks collapse and be washed downstream by the current. Rocks, logs, bushes etc will block the flow of the current and artifacts will get stuck by them.

Sand bars and gravel bars are always good places to hunt as is the convergence of two creeks, streams etc.
