In this episode, we find ourselves in Virginia in the middle of the site of a large Civil War Union Army winter camp. Here we have located an old corduroy road bed at about 4 feet down, give or take a foot or two. On this beautiful day many remnants of the Civil War would be unearthed. So grab your shovel and come join the dig!

This is the one that I submitted recently into a film contest. Thanks goes out to everyone that gave me suggestions on which clips to use.

Mudslidejim, I could watch your videos all day long. Thanks for sharing.

I bet there are many folks who had never even heard of a corduroy road, much less seen the remnants of one, until your post. WTG. You guys not only preserve the tangible pieces of history, you also expose folks to the way things used to get done (tree trunks for road beds). I commend you.

PS, those CW soldiers sure had little feet. LOL Just goes to show how much our modern nutrition and protein sources have increased and how much we've grown as a result.

Great finds - always enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one

Thanks River Rat...

Those shoes were a shock - Prior to the excavation of the roadbed, I had never seen leather goods intact.
