Found a few keepers in an old farm field on Sunday. The first was this New Zealand shilling dated 1934. The front depicts King George V, while the reverse side shows a Maori warrior. It is 50% silver. The other coin I believe is William and Mary. It takes some real looking, but I think I see GVL in the lower left, and MVS in the upper left. I also think I see the point of William’s leafy crown and perhaps Mary’s forehead. The back is completely shot, though I swear I see the number four right where the date should be: 1694? The third keeper was this small bell that I found on the way to the car. It is only about the size of a Lincoln cent, and apparently had an iron clapper. Anybody have any ideas about age and function? Thanks! Happy hunting!

That's only the 2nd year New Zealand issued coins. Makes you wonder how it got there.

After looking at the pics, I'm thinking that is a W & M for sure. What a great coin! The bell is a wonderful find too.
I'm with cudamark...Gotta wonder how that NZ found its way to a Mass farm field. Congrats all around!

Thanks … did not know that. This was certainly an unexpected find, as it is a long way from home.

Thanks! I wish the copper was in better shape, but at least it was identifiable. I really like the small bell, and hope for some ideas on it.
