I have a creek on my property. It doesnā€™t freeze over, due to the moving water. I made a rudimentary rock sieve out of hardware cloth. As soon as temps get back above 20 degrees f. I plan to start sifting. Arrow points have come from this creek. As a bonus, Iā€™m looking for rocks to polish with my granddaughters. Hoping to spark an interest in natural science. Iā€™ll post my results. If nothing else, should be good for stopping cabin fever syndrome!šŸ˜Š

Pictures!
Hereā€™s pics. Creek, bucket and hardware cloth. And, a bunch of rocks, including 2 fossils. 52 degrees F., looking for artifacts. I consider it a win. I found one that I want to talk myself into believing may have been man-altered. Am to embarrassed to show it. I think I know the answer. It has facets, but probably not man made. Going back tomorrow.

The one bone looking fossil is interesting, kind of turtleish, also donā€™t know if itā€™s the one youā€™re talking about but one to the lower left looks like it could have a scalloped worked edge

Hope it turns out like you planned. The creeks here get some strong flow. If I know rain is coming Iā€™ve been known to drag a big log in certain spots and let the water dig it for me. Works pretty good

Attached are better pics of fossils. It does resemble a turtle now that you mention it.

This is the one I was talking about, my pic doesnā€™t show the side profile but itā€™s wedge shaped. But seeing the reverse they appear to both be marine fossils.
