Looking for other people?s experiences with the Nokta Simplex when detecting on a beach. I?m planning on detecting on a dry, sandy beach today. I?ve tried it before using ?beach mode?, but was underwhelmed. Found some things, but lots of false positives.

I?m wondering if ?beach mode? is more for wet sand rather than dry, and if someone found a mode that works well on dry sand?

Well, briefly tried the beach mode on an artificial sandy beach, but found if I could get a reasonable Ground balance, I'd use the Park 1 mode (slower, but deeper), with moderate Sensitivity - I did pretty good, considering it was probably hunted already - very little trash, especially pull-tabs...!
On a real sandy, SALTY beach, I'm not sure wet or dry works best, but I'm assuming the machine can be tweaked, with good results...!
