Had a good day in Minnesota before the Easter snowstorms. Found 2 general service buttons . A piece to a powder flask, a 1863 Indian and some other goodies. Anybody know anything about the button. Age? The first people to settle the area were Norwegian immigrants.
Good job on the buttons thats cool to find that one could be pretty rare. Ive always wanted to find a powder flask the are very ornate nice job on some good keepers.
The lion is wielding a short straight-shafted battle-axe and not a long curve-shafted halberd. The halberd was officially discarded from the armorial by Royal Order on 10 July 1844 and the battle-axe re-introduced (it had last seen use on the armorial in the mid-15th Century).
