An air quality alert has been issued for Central Pennsylvania including Schuylkill County.
AIR QUALITY ALERT IS IN EFFECT FOR WEDNESDAY JUNE 7, 2023.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code RED Air Quality Alert for all of Central Pennsylvania due to widespread smoke impacting the state from forest fires across eastern
Canada.

A Code RED Air Quality Alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region are unhealthy, and the general public may experience mild health effects. Members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.

I didn't notice the smoke when I took a walk earlier because I forgot about This.
Some of the other Residents said it was bad so I Had to take a 2nd Walk to see/smell it. as soon as I opened the Stair Well I Smelled it , because the windows have screens in. Sun is Blocked, The Mountains look Foggy, and One Resident was wearing 2 Masks while waiting for a Ride. Is all of Eastern Canada Burning ? :dontknow:

I can tell you that our mosquitoes are just as hungry, Deer flies just as nasty, and the picture shows these little buggers are just as thirsty.

actually I would Think by the time it gets to PA,
It is No worse then being in a Car with a Smoker :coffee2:
Except Cigarette Smoke Smells Better then the air right now.

How about the Gnats ? when I used to Smoke, I Used to chain Smoke, or use a punk stick after I quit smoking. while detecting to Keep the Gnats at a Distance.
nothing worse then walking in a Field and feeling Gnats Bouncing off my Face :unhappysmiley:

We had a code red alert yesterday here in North Carolina. Hard to imagine a fire big enough for the smoke to be a problem about 700 miles away.
