At least it’s a button!!! I couldn’t sleep so I worked all night and left on the hour drive at 5am, drive to the Rev Fort and worked those white shells for 2 hours. I was drenched by 8am. This is 10% dirt, 50% white shells 40% old brick and LOTS of iron bits and square nail.

I got a small button that appears to say WARRANTED SUPERIOR. I can’t find much on this button. I think civilian button and that just the quality. And I found a round ball. Now I find lots of pellets of all different sizes, so I wonder if these might be a buck and ball from Rev time? Help me out lol Thanks for always looking at my painful hard work.

That's a civilian button 1830's-1860's or so. Anything found with them probably dates to the same time frame. It was just over 90 here today, 1,000 miles to the north of you.

Great looking button. I think you have at least a few musket balls there. Gonna speculate on the big one..it was fired and struck something. Then was chewed by a hog. Lead is kind of sweet smelling and tasting, and they will chew them for a while before spitting them out. Just my 2 cents.

I do love the button because I was surprised to see any writing on the back. I’m pleased all because it hit a 14-15 on the 800 which is typically a pull tab. Glad I don’t listen to myself a lot.

Did you ever think of getting a head lamp and go night hunting to stay out of the heat? I just got my Nox 600 yesterday and I love the back light and I might start night hunting at the beach before everyone else gets up.
