Nuclear magnetic resonance imaging

I am new here

I see several threads speaking about NMRI. I know that there are ground equipment, that can exploit earth's magnetic field.

Is it possible to do the same from satellites?

A miner mentioned that they would wait for a satellite to pass overhead (it is a russian satellite) and use it to perform subsurface NMRI. He won't say anything more.

I have a BSc in physics, and I can't see how this would ever be possible to create the perturbation signal with a satellite.... I could also not find any scientific documents to that end.

Does anyone now what it actually is about??
