OK Team, What is this??? Found in Former farmland turned city park

I found this at a city park. I have been in this area before and never detected anything like this. It is heavy, iron, and the city property was a farm many years ago.

It doesn't look like anything I've ever seen or found on a farm site.
Based on the casting of the metal and how it's 'breaking down', I'm thinking it's a relatively modern piece from the early 20thc.

I like Mick's theory of it being an early 'car related' accessory.

The top pic looks like it may have been attached to a wooden pole? May have been a connector for a pump jack? Pump jack rod, sucker rod etc?

OK, here you go. 2 more pics. The other side and an angle shot including a piece from the hole that apparently broke off which might explain why i found it (from the same hole). Laid it on top for one pic and took it off for the other. Thanks all for your input. Appreciate it.

I agree not an exact match but close to the chain floor baler attachment used on the New Holland Round Baler ( Ask an old farmer with a red tractor. The ones with green tractors don't know much

Looks like a .50 cal to me. I know someone who has a .50 cal muzzleloader, I know there are bigger muzzleloaders like .69 cal though as well.

I think the first thing holds a material strap that turns back on itself to keep it holding at a certain tension!

Looks like a more modern bullet (20th century). What is the diameter?

1/4 inch or about 6-7 mm. sorry I forgot to put that up....

Interesting. Never thought of a motor clamp. Seems kinda heavy for that, but I did find it within 50 yards of the river. Someone else suggested an attachment for a car bumper or farm equipment attachment
