Old brass lock, any guesses on dates?

Still has a rusted chain attached, makes me wonder if it got cut off a box of goodies! Found this at the new honey hole. Only find worth keeping today. No rivets strangely enough. Very small but very dense/solid. Can’t find any markings on it- Any guesses?

This is what a couple of my found locks now . Sorry did not take a picture when they was found. For years i have been trying to find keys for them :( White Vinegar

I might add these were BRASS Not iron locks I tried a iron one in the solution and it ate it up

The brass lock even had a cover for the key. It slides like it was new, I do not remember how long the iron one in the picture was in for but you can see it was pretty well ate u. Just be careful AND KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM WHEN SOAKING IF YOU TRY

Awesome, trying it now! Already have a makers mark! Corbin cabinet lock company. Can’t find any matching models on google images :/

Then i used a tooth brush on it
Then applied a cooking oil finish

I think I found one like yours, measurements of yours will confirm if it's the same, look at lock #5196 about midway down at this link.

You could maybe contact that website to possibly find out.

At the bottom of the home page it has a "contact" link to email them.

I can't say enough times keep an eye on the lock every hour or so. You do not want it destroyed
