3/4" diameter, non magnetic.

Has an interesting design on the front and peculiar tabs or something on the back.

Thanks, Kyle

*BUMP*

I'm hoping new pictures might result in some new or second opinions. This "button" is exactly 3/4" in diameter.

To anyone who replies, thanks!

I'm a iowa boy but that kinda reminds me of a sand dollar.

It does look a little like a sand dollar, doesn't it?

For anyone who doesn't know, my "button" was dug up at a 1910 house site, where I previously have found several relics from the 1910s-20s and, inexplicably, an 1850s State Militia Panel Plate Buckle usually found at Civil War sites!

I read through some of the theories offered when you first posted your find 2 years ago. Now that you've posted better pics, I'm thinking it could be either the decorative center portion of a brooch, part of furniture hardware or possibly from a horse rosette. :icon_scratch:

Thanks for the ideas! It's so weird that I can't find any info about the design. Is it supposed to be an 8 pointed "starburst" or just 8 lines arranged in a circle?
