Can anyone identify this piece of metal? It's about 4 inches by 3 inches and I think it's made of copper or brass

I straightened it a tiny bit. I was taking a chance even doing that. It definitely will break pretty easy

yeah man, gotta be careful.I know it is tempting,but sometimes you end up with two half's.Neat find.I take it the area you are hunting is pretty old.

The east coast is the oldest part of this country as far as the Spanish and European's coming here.Since I have been looking at treasurenet,I have noticed the further north-east people are finding stuff,it "seem's" like the older the old colonial money and stuff they are finding.Don't get much further north then Mass.Where are you now if you don't mind me asking?
