Anyone know what this is? Found it with my Equinox 800 today in the wet sand on Texas coast. Back side is not really recognizable and don't want to clean until I have more information.

You have Spanish Silver!!! Congrats!!!

Or a counterfeit. Sure can't tell from the pics. You are going to have to clean it some. Check for a mold seam around the edges. I have found a few fake coins over the years, but I sure can't tell on this one.

How can you tell for sure? Picture coloring is distorted with LED light trying to capture detail. Rang up as 20/21. Appreciate the responses.

Few more pictures. Have posted on some "expert" coin sites too with opinions also ranging from fake, possibly lead seal, to possibly authentic. Will post any significant new information found.

Thanks for the extra pictures!
Wonder if an element test, or metal test, would get your answer...?

Sure looks like it has been in the water a few hundred years. I'm by no means a coin guy though

Rut Roh.

20/21 is too low for it to be real. It should be ringing in solid silver numbers. I thought the cross was standing out too much in the picture.
