Found in Bavaria, looks like possibly someone seated on the reverse, feels like it may be a copper hammered but not sure, any help is appreciated as always.

Yep, jeton it is. Jetons were used as reckoning pieces on a counting board and had no monetary value; as opposed to tokens which circulated like coins, serving as alternative currency.

Yours has a Louis XIV of France obverse with the legend: LVD XIIII. D.G. FR ET NAV. REX (Ludwig XIIII King of France and Navarre), Ludwig being the Latinised equivalent for Louis. His reign was between 1643=1717 but jetons like this were still produced long after his death, at least until the mid-1700s and perhaps beyond.

The reverse is a generic female country personification, seated on a chair, right hand holding her head, left hand holding crown balanced on her knee. Legend: LE REPOS SVIT LA VICTOIRE (Victory is followed by rest). Like this, but with numerous variations:

Multiple makers used this design and some have letters in the exergue below. Yours has RECHN PF (for Rechen pfennig, or reckoning penny) and what looks like LC.H. The vast majority of these jetons were made in Nuremberg, Germany and those initials would be for the maker. We could narrow down the date a bit more if the maker could be identified but the initials aren’t for any of the leading makers in Nuremberg or elsewhere as far as I’m aware.

"L C H" are the initials for Lazarus Christian Hoppgarten
Mint Master at Moritzburg in 1622 and in Harburg 1625-1626.

Don....

Interesting so it’s 1600’s? Cool history on the Jetons love this hobby

I don't think so Don. It could be 1600s but not Hoppgarten with those dates up to 1626. The obverse appears to be for Louis XIV (expressed as the Latinised LVD XIIII) and he wasn't even born then. Louis didn't come to the French throne until 1643 and wasn't crowned until 1654. The portrait shows him as a man, so it must be from later in his reign (or produced after his death) since he was only four years old when he first inherited the throne.

Note also that the initials are spaced as: LC . H

I think it far more likely its an:
I.C.H
Which is for Iohann Konrad Hoger master from 1705-1743, so IP's 'probably' as 18th C is correct & so is the rest of the ID.

Thanks Crusader. That would make sense.
