It's a handle, it's made of iron.Trying to figure out the name on the handle. It appears to have the name/word LAXOANDO or DAXCANOO, or some variation of those letters.

Maybe it says: Glaxo And Co.
Here's a Glaxo employee badge. Maybe this handle came from a container at the Glaxo Company.

Ok, after further inspection i believe it says LAXGAN CO. I have done various searches on the internet with no success. Anybody know of a company by this name? also, what else would this go to besides a trunk/chest?

I don't know what it says but it looks like the handle off a wash tub. You gave us no indication of size. How big/small is it?

@DCMatt, its 3 3/4" long by 2 6/16" tall. bout 1/2" at it thick where the word is. Thanks for working w/photo, you can really see it that way. Metal Detecting mysteries, so bitter sweet!
