I went to a garage sale on the Christian Hill Road in Bristol , Maine . I lived a quarter mile from it back in the 70's - The dirt road that led to it had no name back then .

So I bought some stuff - $7 for all .

I told them that myself & my brother would come up here to an old bottle dump . The Mother said '' yes in the woods over there '' She pointed . She asked me if there were granite rocks in a square , I said yes .

She said a Black Man lived there in the late 1800's , and one night , people came and burned his cabin down .
She said ''Before this was called Christian Hill ,back then It was called ''N'' word Hill Road. And she said every old person in town Knows this .
I was Thunderstruck !

Anyway , The tiny camera , looks like one in the back of a comic I never bought .

Older people sure know their local history. If they do not pass it on and it is not written down somewhere then it is gone.
