OMG, Look what I just found!! Updated...necklace returned

I volunteered to help decorate the American Legion rental hall for a wedding reception. As I pulled into the parking lot a glint of something sparkly caught my eye. As I picked it up, my heart did a thumper-thump-thump I hurried inside and asked the girls if they lost a diamond pendant necklace. No one did, but my excitement overwhelmed me, I had to hurry home to look at it closely under the magnifying glass. The back of the pendant states "14K Past Present Future", the clasp has "585 Italy" on it. I called the Legion's secretary to ask her if anyone reported losing a necklace, she has not had any reports. If no one calls about it, it's mine. Can't get any good pics...the last is scanned. My heart is still thumpering.

Just shows how vounteer work pays off. You did all the right things now time to sit back and see if someone claims it. Regardless of the outcome, you had a big of enjoyment finding it.

The excitement of your find will pale to the excitment shared by being able to give it the one who lost it. You might try Craig's List and place notice of your find there.

sweet find RR -- hope its yours in the end --- you did the right thing (and smart thing ) by checking to see if anyone told the local vfw post they lost it -- that way if you keep it and wear it and later on some one "sees" it and goes hey that my necklace that went missing -- by reporting it you now have a person to vouch that you came by it fair and square ---- looks totally intact and chains not broken so most likey it fell out of their car or a pocket / purse some how. -- Ivan
