Looks like a heavy duty, maybe orchard basket. Not a tourist piece, but in a previous life probably worked for a living. The construction style lends itself to stacking when empty, for moving about in the field, or storage IMO. Nice find, definite value, but how much?

Nice looking basket Jim, as the others mentioned, I'm thinking it was for picking apples, pears or some other type of fruit or veg. :icon_scratch: I'm not too keen on the painted on flowers though, these look to have been done by some 'craft happy' person later in the baskets life. I'm also thinking the inside of the basket was painted at the same time the flowers were added.

Depending on how the base is attached, your basket likely dates from 1910 - 40.

It definitely has collectible value... you just have to find someone who likes flowers. :laughing7:
