I have found a couple pewter spoons at an old property I’ve been detecting at. Is there any way to know what era these type spoons are from? They look pretty darn old.

Often the base metal of silver plated flatware is a copper alloy known as "nickel silver" which is basically brass (copper + zinc) with as much as 18% nickel added. It comes out of the ground looking much like old brass does.
