After much research and debating what detector fit my needs, I settled on the Legend.
My research lead me to choose the Legend as it seems to have the best features for the price.
I’d also like to thank Bart @Bart@Big Boys Hobbies for helping me out.
For anyone looking to buy a detector, I’d give Bart a call.
Defiantly, call them first. You might just get a ā€œbetterā€ deal!

He was the only shop I called that actually answered the phone.
The others all did call me back, but never actually answer the phone.

BTW, I’m moving up from an MXT.
The old MXT has been good to me for the last 13+ years.
But it’s a tank, heavy, and getting part or service is almost nonexistent.

Take care friends. I’ll hopefully have an update once the new machine is here and I’ve had some time to swing it.

Legend should arrive tomorrow.

One quick question.

The manual says you may hear a clicking sound when tightening the coil. Does this mean I need to keep tightening the connector until it clicks? Or just snug it up?

I don’t exactly have plans on taking it in the water.
But should I ever want to, I want to make sure it’s tight enough to keep water out.

Is it the same for the battery/charging port too?

Have had mine for six months. Some speaker issues to begin with but Nokta stands behind their product. Have never used anything else other than a cheap bounty hunter but am extremely happy with mine. Hope you have same experience as well.

Do the push-turn-push-turn, ... etc, when attaching the coil wire to the head unit.

Will do:thumbsup:

Just wondering if it’s supposed to click?
The user manual says it ā€œmayā€ click while tightening.
Indicating it’s sufficiently tight. But the word ā€œmayā€ seems odd. Every video I’ve watched on assembly, no one else seems to be ā€œclickingā€.

Just don’t want to tighten it to much looking for a ā€œclickā€ and end up breaking it.

I guess I’ll just tighten it until it feels good an snug.
No big deal.

I don’t plan to use the speaker.
I always use headphone.
But obviously, I’d like for to ā€œworkā€.
But if it does go out (after warrant) no big deal.

Never used the speaker on my MXT.
I actually have a piece of duct tape covering the speaker to keep dust and dirt out.

The Legend arrived yesterday.
Just got it together today. It’s charging now.

I find it interesting how the coil connection is supposed to be water tight?
Maybe there’s an o-ring or gasket in the coil connector?
Doesnā€˜t look to be one on the control box side?

I know I sound skeptical on the connection.
But I’m just old enough to remember when water and electronics were bad news. My cell phone is supposed to ā€œwater proofā€ to 3 meters. But I still won’t leave it in my pocket if I’m sweating. 8-)

Water and electronics scare me.

I assume the double beeps are the ā€œgoodā€ ones to dig.,
Defiantly had to learn how to setup a custom discrimination setting.
Way too many targets under 20 on the VDI in my yard.

I’m not going lie. I lost a penny and dime out in the yard.
Threw them out there and never did find them. I was ā€œpracticingā€œ by closing my eyes and tossing coins in the yard. I found them most of the time. But 2 are gone……:laughing7:

Small update.
I think I’m starting to figure it out a bit.
Defiantly had to switch to 4 tones.
2 tones was way to hard to keep up with…….
Way too many good signals in 2 tones.

The Legend LOVES bottle caps.
They ring up right in the Zinc penny VDI…
