Police Button 072422.jpg Police Button Reverse 072422.jpg
Favorite find today (actually yesterday) was this antique police button, maker's mark A.L. Singer, Chicago Il.

Pin 072422.jpg
Twenty-five year pin for The Maccabees. Is marked sterling on the back.

Feed wheel 072422.jpg
Piece of an oil lamp. Taplin's Hinge. Patent date March 4,1864.

Play dimes 072422.jpg
Couple of play dimes. Get excited every time I dig one of these, thinking I got a trime. Have found a record four play dimes this year. Zero trimes.

Coins 072422.jpg
The coins.

Hook 072422.jpg Hook pattern 072422.jpg
Found a number of these over the years. Not sure what they are. Any ideas? Generally the same shape. Usually with a pattern on them. Wonder if it's a hook for suspending pots or cups?

This is a molding hook. They used to place molding high on the wall in older plaster wall houses. The hooks were used to hang pictures. Driving a nail in the older style lath and plaster walls to hang pictures usually caused the plaster to crack so they used the molding and hooks instead.

Looks like you had some good hunting. Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.

Thanks for the information. Every time I find one, I feel it must have had a purpose.
