I found this small what I believe to be civil war bullet while arrowhead hunting. Any help would be greatly appreciated it appears to be old regardless. If it is civil war this will be my first ever civil war relic. I’m becoming interested in metal detecting

Looks like maybe .357/.38 cal ( or .32, not sure ) handgun, round nose lead slug. Modern, as in pre-loaded cartridge, not black powder.

Thank you so much for your helpful information. I’m an avid arrowhead hunter I’m not familiar with civil war relics. I hope to maybe start looking for them in the future!

Idk looks pretty old to me. What about patina? Just asking for my own knowledge
It could be 100+ years old. Or not. How long does it take to oxidize lead ( patina )? IDK. I'm not a bullet expert of any kind, although there are many here with expertise in Civil War era bullets. Maybe they will have something to say.

Very Helpful information. There are several places in my hometown I can get it looked at. I’m a college student so I’m pretty busy with my weekly schedule. When I get the chance I’ll definitely take the time to get it checked out. Again, thank y’all so much for all your helpful insight. I’ll have to research more into this patina.

We would need accurate measurements of length, diameter and weight to positively identify it. A close measurenent with a ruler may help.
& a picture of it's base + other angles (if u can ) & remember 'Weight in Grains '.

It's good lookin no matter the age.
