C S Willard spoon or fork handle end ?
Definitely could be. I looked into their company, but didn’t see where they made any pewter cutlery. I also looked Into CS pewter Co., but they don’t seem to make kitchen utensils.

I think that is a hard sell....too bad it was not complete to yay or nay it.
Yeah. Definitely a shot in the dark. I’ve found a few companies with CS in the name dealing with pewter, but I haven’t been able to mail it down to any one. Could just be a homemade piece. I know the last name of the family that lived there was Callender, so it could be an initial, but I didn’t think they would put the last name first on initialed objects.

Maybe the scrap end of a solder or babbitt metal ingot with the manufacturer embossed on it...

Yeah. I’d considered this too. I’d say that is more than likely what it is, as I’ve found other random pieces/melted blobs of pewter all over the site. As to the name, I’d say it will probably be hard to decipher, as I only have one letter. Looks like I’ll have to try and find another more complete one or the rest one my current one!

Thanks everybody for the replies! I’ll keep surfing the internet to see if I can’t find a close match for at least the name.
