Possible historic find?!!

Ok I really need some help on this is someone can tell me what I want to hear that is if it is what I'm hoping? This piece is composed of brass and has a lead pipe sticks out of what looks like a fitting. It has threads inside the other end as to thread onto something keeping the lead in place. If someone has a positive ID on this or any info regarding it's orientation or age it would help solve a puzzle and give substantial evidence relating to sam Houston! Thanks

Well I titled it possible historic find. It's irreverent to were it was found unless I know it's period. But if y'all have to know it from a plantation were sam Houston was camped for many days. It it not related as to in his Hands but if it's period then it was taken off and given to Sam Houston for supply's. I know the history very well to were I dig and have lots of provenance to support and back up my location. I am one of only a few who have dug here and one of only two who have the permission and continue to dig here as much as I would like. But I understand the historic significance to know its important to history I take the proper and necessary measures to locating, digging, logging and itemizing my finds. Please don't take me as being vague for it is important to protect the owner of the lands requests. I has already been logged as a historical site and dug by archeologists. But there not welcome continually like I am. So I find it my job to keep the history flowing from the ground for everyone to see.

It is a hose connector, not coupling, Probably from an old pump. Maybe for irrigation. Tony

Have to agree with the Hose coupling
The knob is so you can put a spanner wrench on it to tighten down
The threads look like they could fire hose thread
The fitting is brass so it wont spark, common for fittings to be aluminum or brass

Looks very much like part of a rocker lug / brass swivel for firehose. Was Sam Houston a firefighter in the 1880s?
