I would think it is a replica, here are my reasons why, 1st it was found in a playground, 2nd it looks to have a seam, 3rd it looks like one area was scraped on the side with the cross and that could have been where it said copy there are a lot of these posted on TNET, I would go around to local shops or stores around the beach area and see if you can find a store selling them. I truly hope it is real for you but it is highly doubtful. Hammered coins didn't have seams.

Brass copy

Though I wonder about 2 things that were stated:

1: "id it onine valued at 50,500.00"
2: "I was able to trim on the edge with knife"

Am I reading/interpreting this incorrectly.
That you found an ID online, valued at $50,000.00-then you took your knife out and trimmed the edge?:icon_scratch:

I'm really not sure what to say-maybe I need another :coffee2::coffee2:

I'm afraid it's a tourist fake, mimicking an 8 real piece. They're usually dated 1736 and purporting to be from Peru/Bolivia. Note the word 'EXANO' but there are no genuine coins of this type with that inscription (according to 'CoinQuest').

https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=16277

They're made in a variety of base metals/alloys... sometimes white metal with a 'gold' wash. Whether any exist in precious metals, I don't know.

According to the Coin Value site the “EXANO” lettering indicates a fake.
