Possible untouched site?

I went out to a new place today. It's an older baseball field that has been around for probably 40 years. No big deal. BUT I learned via the historical society that the ground the field is on is where the Dutch settled in the late 1600's. In fact, they would take a boat from this location across the river to a church inDelaware: I only got 40 minutes in today and found the following (no coins yet but it looks promising)



I dug the square nail at 13 inches. The ground is kinda sandy due to being close to river. It allowed the Etrac to run at 29 sensitivity +3 and it was stable. Does anyone know how old (approximately) those nails are?

Be sure to scan the water's edge as climbing in and out of a boat may mean a dropped coin. Good find on your site.

Sounds like you were running in Auto sensitivity? Try running in manual to get added depth, even if you can't get all the way to 29 like you were talking about. Even at the same numbers you'll get more depth in manual mode.

You may be able to date that clock if there's any writing stamped into the brass- that's neat! I found one too a few weeks ago- Ingraham made in Bristol, CT between 1881-5.

I was running Man sensitivity. At one point it was at 30 .
