I went out with a friend today to a spot we checked out yesterday. As far as coins my best find was the 1880 Indian cent. I also found a crusted wheat cent and about two dollars clad. I can't decide if I like the powder flask or the anchor clip better. Can anyone give me an age on the flask. It most be old because I found it in a small wooded area in the middle of a city. It most have been lost when that area was still mostly Forrest. The pocket knife is cool it is the smallest I have ever found. The oval piece is a pin it has a nice design on the front. I think the the anchor piece is a suspender clip. Correct me is I'm wrong if anyone can ID it please let me know. Overall a good day. The coins weren't what I wanted but I think the relics more then make up for it. Happy hunting everyone!!

Nice assortment of finds John. The "anchor clip" is kind of neat. Thanks for sharing...

I think you will find that the flask is in fact not pewter...

Try a little scrub on an inconspicuous area to see if I am correct.

I believe you have a Dixon & Sons flask.

IF in fact it is pewter...

You have a found a "rarer" version of a Dixon flask.

Nice digs BTW... Well done.

I can't ID the function but I would think its too heavy construction for a suspender clip.

It was a fun day John, great flask and love the anchor... I'll post my finds soon... the little coin may be German... Thanks for taking me to this sight.

A great relic day indeed. I like the anchor pin best.

i had fun day i wanna see that coin after its cleaned!!the flask is brass great ids on both of my items.

Very nice finds.Congrats :occasion14:

yes its a james dixon and sons flask. The light is better and i can see it now.

Very cool old relics you scored. That anchor appears to be half of a naval sash buckle. That's a very cool item. Perhaps the other half is still in the area? Love the old flask too. I always love an Indian Head Cent. Great day out with a friend getting the good stuff. Well done.:headbang:

Very nice finds!

Hi, wow nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Great find on the powder flask!!

I've found bits and pieces of them, like the racheting top, spout, etc., but never the body...one of these days.

Cal
