Welcome to TNet.

My grandmother taught me not to write things down, that I would be embarrassed to read in front of the church congregation. That nugget of wisdom has served me well.

Paranoia - What Is Paranoia - Signs of Paranoia

Good luck to you sir!

Are people's private messages being read by the administrators of this forum? Do the users have any guarantee to privacy? Thanks

This has been addressed multiple times, the answer is NO, admins and mods do not read private PMs.

Seasiat7, in a word, NO.

TNet runs on Vbulletin software, and while it is *technically* possible
for an Admin to access a members PM's, it is a difficult process to do so.

The big question is: WHY would they want to read your PM's? There's
100,000+ members of this site, and the Admin's manage not only this
site, but others as well. There is simply no reason to do so, and I'm also
sure it goes against their own policies.

You're safe here.

We have a hard enough job monitoring the posts and threads for problems, PMs are just that, private messages unless someone complains about a pm they received and send us a copy.

well actually Treasure Hunter reads PMs, sent him a few my self.

You know what, he is even polite enough to reply to them as well.

Same goes for Jeff.

Just try it, send a Mod a PM asking them if they read PMs and see what they tell you.

Always operate under the principle that nothing is safe online. If you don't want prying eyes to see something, don't send it.

FWIW (to anyone still wondering) A Moderator (or Super Mod) does not have
the technical access to anyone's PM's. Only an Admin with extensive knowledge
of VBulletin can. In other words...NOT gonna happen.

If you're really, really paranoid about it, swap snail-mail addresses
with the other person and exchange info the old fashioned way. 8-)
